Tattoo FAQ

  • Are tattoos safe?

Yes tattoos are perfectly safe assuming that you are seeing a reputable artist in a shop that is following all health regulations, and assuming you are following the recommended aftercare given to you during the tattoo.

  • How much will it cost?

At Adrenaline we charge an average of $160 to $180 per hour on larger pieces, with a minimum of $100.  Smaller work is priced by the piece.  If you are not sure as to how long a certain tattoo will take, you can bring in imagery for an artist to quote for you.

  • Does it hurt?

Pain is really relative as everyone has a different tolerance to pain.  People would not be returning for tattoo after tattoo if it was that bad. The benefits of the beautiful tattoo that you get will far outweigh the procedure!

  • Can I use a numbing cream?

Any sort of numbing creams are really not recommended as they change the integrity of your skin. Numbing creams usually only last about a half hour before wearing off which really isn’t long enough to get that much work done anyways!

  • How long does it take to heal?

In general tattoos take around two to four weeks to heal assuming that you are following the artist recommended aftercare!

  • What is the best time of year to get a tattoo?

Fresh tattoos cannot be soaked in any body of water or be exposed to sun! This means no swimming or tanning so the best time of year to get tattooed is cloudy or cold months. Even after a tattoo is fully healed, you should always apply sun block to the tattoo whenever exposing it to the sun so the tattoo stays looking crisp longer!

  • How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?

At Adrenaline, you must be 18 years of age with valid government issued ID to get tattooed. With parental consent/attendance and valid ID on both parts, 17 years of age will be considered for certain tattoos with a very limited selection of artists.  Please inform our staff, before you book in, if you are 17 years of age so the rules an be explained and we can pair you with the right tattooer.
